Once my friend asked me that whether she should be living in reality or in her dreamland. She asked me this question because she finds her sweet dreamland more appealing than the harsh reality. This again swayed me into an ocean of thoughts. What concluded was that we dream when we are sleeping once we wakes up, our dream vanishes away and that’s the time when we have to face reality. Dreaming neither helps us with lessons about life. And we can’t sleep forever. After a while we have to get up and face the reality. Dreaming wont either feed our stomach. So it’s better to face the reality no matter how harsh or unpleasant it is. Dreaming is just like running away from reality which is not a solution but which only leads us deeper into problems. So let’s choose the way which will help us later in life, something like the path less travelled by.
What makes human race different from other species? Is it the ability to conquer the world rather destroy world or is the passion to dominate nature? Or is it the ability to reproduce innumerably? I asked the same question to myself and got entangled in different thoughts. I asked myself that is the physical strength which makes humans different but the answer was no because animals have much more strength. I then asked myself if it’s the passion of moving ahead in life, again the answer was no because we move ahead in order to survive just like a food chain works. The quality which according to me makes a man complete is his kindness. His caring attitude. There is no other living being on this planet who can think for anyone else except himself. So let us vow to b concerned about nature and other living beings including human and redefine the meaning of human race
I dedicate this post to you himani. Its 1:30am, just 24 hours before your departure. I am feeling really depressed. All I have got to say is ‘please don’t go’. In last 1 year you have completely changed my life. You made me get over one of the major shock. It’s not just only that, you taught me the way to live. You are the one who actually notices my tearful eyes even when it’s pitch-dark. I know there have been times when you were completely shattered but instead of crying you managed to smile because u didn’t wanted me to lose courage. You showed confidence in me which bought positivity in my life. People might hate you for your straight forward attitude but I can never do that. I might not show you that often but I really care for you. You have been my best friend and I reałly mean it. Together we have been really close to death but I was never afraid that time because I had u with me. It’s you who kept me on my toes when things were not falling into places. You taught me to be patient and you even helped me with maths :). Those embraces used to make me forget all my worries and evening walks with u were always full of smiles. I will miss playing in rain like children and those drives. I will miss your orders to cook. I will miss ‘that’ chocolate. And I will miss my smile the most. I just want to thank you for those dinners, those outing, and all those smiles which you bought me, those innumerable chocolates and most importantly I thank you for being a guiding light. Please mat jaa. I just don’t want to lose you.
Today the way we live is getting weirder every day. We care about the things which should not matter at all. We give hell lot of importance to pieces of paper which we are going to leave on earth after our death. We define a person thru his wealth, his status is society. Love is getting more of physical. Value of living being is reduced and is often evaluated with money. People kill each other for few bucks. Where are we all going?
Are we all are underestimating the powerful yet simpler and deeper things? Y is this happening? Y can’t we live a more spiritual life? Well I don’t have an answer to this question but this does irritates me to no end.
Touch has a lot of power in it. It can give life, it’s not just a physical touch, it has a deeper meaning. Like how does a child feels when his mothers touch him for the first time? We don’t remember how we felt but a child feels really joyful, similar to what most of you feel when your spouse touches you. Breathtaking..! Or how vigorously does your dog wags his tail when you touch him? It just signifies lots of love. Something to value for. Even a smile, it signifies acceptance. Its doesn’t costs anything but for the other person it means a lot. Just imagine you greeting your friends with a frown. They won’t really like to spend time with you. But just keep a simple smile on your face and it will attract all the people towards you. Similarly a kind word said on a right moment can have a deep impact on someone’s life. Sometimes just a word of appreciation can turn the life to 180′. Do you know what a person needs when he is going through emotional traumas? He doesn’t need your money, he just needs an ear who could listen to him endlessly, a hand which he could hold, a shoulder on which he can rest and a finger which could wipe his tears. There’s a small story which I want to share. I am just sharing a part of it. Once a teenager was committing suicide because she felt aloof, she called her best friend but couldn’t speak to her because her best friend was out. The girl picked up the gun and was about to shoot herself but suddenly her phone rang and it was her best friend. She immediately dropped that gun and shared everything with her friend. Her friend rushed to her. So it was just that phone call which saved her life. Just this act of caring turned her life for better.
So here is an appeal to wake up and start caring about your loved ones and give a little less importance to irrelevant things. Please wake up before it’s too late. Try to realized the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around…and care for people, love them beacuse Those who loved you and were helped by you will remember you when forget-me-nots have withered. Carve your name on hearts, not on marble
I often receive this as message or I often find this as peoples status on facebook ‘You know you are in love when u cant fall asleep because reality is finally better then your dreams.” But is it true? Atleast I doubt its validity. It may be because I don’t trust these relationships anymore. But the statement itself has many contradictions.
We might find reality like a fairytale and not sleep for few days week or lets even consider a month, but after that we will have to take rest. You cant fight this fact that a person dies without sleep much faster as compared to survival in absence of food. What happens to reality after that? Is it that we don’t find it that appealing?
I don’t mean to offend these relationships but as per my observations most of the relationships results in painful break-ups. What I want to convey is just that we need to have a perfect balance between dreams and reality. both are equally important in our life.
A random thought which came to my mind while talking to my friend: “Our lives are quite similar to clouds.” And why is that? This is because just like a cloud holds lots of water in it, similarly we hold lots of hurt, frustration and anger in our heart. And when a cloud becomes heavy, it drains out all water in form of rain. Same way when our heart could not take any more hurt, sadness because of those sad incidents, we let it out in form of tears, shout or by any other mean. And just like clouds become brighter and lighter after the rain, we also feel fresh and better after letting out these hidden hurts.

Don’t just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful. Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in good order.
There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.
“Life is one of those races in nursery school where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same is with life where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die. ……………….
One thing about nurturing the spark – don’t take life seriously. Life is not meant to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up? …………….
It’s ok, bunk a few classes, scoring low in couple of papers, goof up a few interviews, take leave from work, fall in love, little fights with your spouse. We are people, not programmed devices………” 🙂
“Don’t be serious, be sincere.”!
